Introduces graphic visual theories and practices and explores the graphic novel form. Surveys earlier word-image texts; mainstream, alternative, and web-based comics; Asian traditions of manga, manhwa, manhua. Examines role of the graphic artist in the changing epistemologies, histories, and formations of Global Asian/Pacific/American networks. One course.
