An exploration of contemporary cultural trends in China within the context of globalization from comparative, interdisciplinary, and interpretive perspectives, integrating social and political research, cultural, media theory and criticism, and historical studies. Examines China’s rapid rise over the last thirty-five years from primarily social science and humanities approaches, concentrating on issues of changing values, ideological contention, intellectual debates, media and public opinions.
