First-Year Chinese in Review II
Second semester First Year Chinese for students who have had some background in Mandarin Chinese before coming to Duke, but who do not qualify for the heritage track. Reviews the essential elements of First Year Chinese in the Chinese cultural context. Equal attention paid to the development of listening, speaking, reading and writing proficiencies and cultural literacy. Not open for credit to students who grew up in a household speaking mandarin Chinese, or to students who began their study of Chinese at Duke with no previous contact with the language. Students must contact the instructor for a proficiency assessment before signing up for the course. Prerequisite: CHINESE105 or instructor consent. One course.
