Explore & examine the tradition of mysticism in literature of the Arab/Muslim world and among British and American writers. Introduce students to numerous genres and literary works that manifest a deep religious attitude or experience as a way of life and cross-cultural phenomenon. Focus on selected works from Muslim writers, American & British writers as example of mystics- or Sufis outside the traditional Church.
