The Japanese program at Duke University hosted the 38th Duke Japanese Speech Contest on March 29, 2025, on East Campus. A total of 15 finalists from Duke University, NC State University, UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, and Wake Forest University competed in the event. Below is the list of winners:
 
 Level I:   
     1st Place:    Dia Wisnewski (UNC Greensboro) Jay Shin (Duke)
