Film & Media Studies

Our faculty has strong teaching and research interest in films studies and offers courses on various genres and national cinemas, as well as documentary and other media such as anime. Emphases on the cinematic as pertaining to other frames and context demonstrate our commitment to critical thinking and cultural studies. Film studies at Asian & Middle Eastern Studies is therefore an interdisciplinary effort that places film and visual literacy at the core of liberal arts education, equipping students with the critical concepts and fundamental skills no matter what future careers they may choose to pursue.
