Jiani (who likes to go by Thea) graduated from UC Santa Cruz and received a B.A. degree in Applied Linguistics. Her research interests lie in cultural anthropology and gender studies, and she specifically focuses on the interdisciplinary study of east Asian feminism and Chinese female immigrants.
