Exploring Japanese Through Tadoku (Extensive Reading) and Beyond

Extensive reading course focused on self-directed learning and building confidence in Japanese. Students select Japanese books from the library's East Asian Collection, including folk tales, short stories, and manga. Develop reading strategies, expand vocabulary, and deepen cultural understanding. Includes regular conversation practice with a language partner and peer book discussions. Primarily for intermediate-level learners with one year of prior study. May be taken with other Japanese courses. Instructor permission required.
