Intercultural Communication

Intercultural Communication describes the communication processes and problems arising from interactions between members of two or more cultural groups who are linguistically and culturally different from one another. To cultivate learners’ understanding of the target culture members’ perspectives in the context of foreign language education, the development of learners’ language proficiency and intercultural competence is fostered and investigated through a variety of learning environments, such as service-learning with refugees or immigrants, project-based learning with members in the community who share similar interests in the target culture and language, and global education in the study abroad context, etc.
