Dingding Wang is a Ph.D. student in the UCSD Literature Program. Her research focuses on a variety of topics, including environmental humanities, global Chinese literature and film, speculative fiction, and cultural studies. She is the translator of The Gunpowder Gardens: Travels through India and China in Search of Tea and Celestial Empire: The Emergence of Chinese Science Fiction (in preparation), and translation editor of Unthought: The Power of the Cognitive Nonconscious. She has published articles and translations on various journals, newspapers, and collections, including Science Writing, Xinhua Daily, and The Overseas Horizon of Sinophone Literature. She is a member of the Jiangsu Science Popularization Writer Association and Eastern China Branch of the World Chinese Science Fiction Association. She also instructed a course on Chinese Culture and Society at Duke University.
