Jing Xu

Jing graduated from Fudan University with a B.A. in Chinese language and literature. Her research focuses on modern Chinese literature, with particular attention to affect studies, sensory studies, and questions of revolution and modernity. Her current thesis examines tears in Chinese left-wing cultural production around the 1930s, treating tears as affective sites to explore the role of affect in the making of revolutionary subjectivity.
