About SEATJ
The Southeastern Association of Teachers of Japanese was organized in 1986 at the Japan Center of North Carolina; since then it has been expanded to become one of the largest and most influential Japanese teachers' associations in the United States.
SEATJ is a regional organization of scholars, teachers of all levels of Japanese language, and students of Japanese language, literature, and linguistics, which strives to promote academic work in the field and to further knowledge and appreciation of Japan and its culture. SEATJ holds an annual conference to provide its members with opportunities to: exchange academic and professional insights, publish the results of groundbreaking research, disseminate innovations in teaching, and otherwise publicize newsworthy developments in the field.
