Tina Liu studies modern Chinese literature and media culture. Her broader research interests include sound studies, Taiwanese literature, corporeality/materiality and New Poetry. Her current research concerns how sound and voice are described and memorized in modern and contemporary China. Prior to joining Duke, she received a B.A. in Chinese Language and Molecular & Cell Biology with dual minors in Digital Humanities and Japanese Language from the University of California, Berkeley.
