Yuqing Wang is a graduate student in literature with a strong interest in how stories reflect and shape culture. She completed her undergraduate degree in Literature, focusing on classical Chinese texts and their connections to social history. Her recent research explores female education in pre-modern China through the character of Lin Daiyu in Dream of the Red Chamber, blending close reading with historical context.
Her academic journey includes in-depth studies of poetry, modern literature, cultural theory, and political thought, drawing on experiences from interdisciplinary courses and independent research projects. She is especially interested in how narratives—whether in literature, games, or visual culture—intersect with themes of gender, identity, and power.
Outside of research, she enjoys creative projects such as designing original board games, presenting at conferences, and engaging in cross-cultural dialogues. She also has a strong passion for interviewing and founded an undergraduate society dedicated to interviewing professors, which deepened her appreciation for academic storytelling and exchange.
